The wreck of the Ispolen appears again

After hiding away for over 2 years

One of the famous rescues by the Henry Ramey Upcher was of the sailing vessel Ispolen on

January 29th 1897.  Nearly 129 years later the remains of the wreck have been uncovered by

stormy weather shown in this photograph that appeared on the Sheringham Community Facebook

on 2nd January 2026.

See the anchor salvaged from the Ispolen on display at The Fishermen's Lifeboat Museum.
